You’re going in my dad books…
Okay, admittedly, that was a very bad pun. But it shouldn’t retract from the very special day that we set apart to celebrate our wonderful fathers! Fathers can come in all shapes and sizes so it’s important that we celebrate each and every one in the way they deserve. To help us with the celebrations, of course, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favourites to get the ball rolling!

Books about fathers in Chinese

This is a sweet touch-and-feel book about a mischievous little bird who likes to peck, peck, peck! But no matter how naughty the little bird is, there’s a loving father waiting to give him a little peck and tuck him into bed.

This book is written in a young child’s perspective and talks about their wonderful dad! Giving lovely bear hugs and… tight-roping socks?! Their dad is funny, cuddly and loving!
Me And My Dad 《我和老爸》 by Liz Climo
Rory’s a cute little dinosaur with a very adventurous spirit! So, one day, when he decides to go out on his own adventure, his dad gets a little worried for him. This is a really endearing book about a dad’s determination to protect his little one.
Daddy Goes To Work 《爸爸去上班》 by Lv Jiang (吕江)
When Daddy goes to work, what kind of things does he see? What kind of journey does he have to take? Is it always smooth? Is it always the same? This book brings beautiful watercolour paintings by Lv Jiang and takes the reader on a journey, too!

Playing with dad is always great fun! You can pretend you’re fighting away the enemy or riding along at full speed. Whatever they do, Sam is always happy to be able to do it together with his dad! This is a cute book about the silly things that we can get up to!

A sweet little book that takes the reader through a father and son preparing for a lovely day out in the park. The illustrations show the heartwarming relationship between parent and child and the text talks us through their morning routine!

You’ve already seen Big And Small listed above but here’s a quick look at What’s Daddy Now?. This is a book about a young girl playing with her father and using their imagination to transform him into all kinds of animals! It’s a really sweet look at the love of parent and child.

A story about a Jewish family and focusing on a little boy called Joseph, this book is about the wonderful ideas and the make-do of his grandfather! Joseph’s grandfather always has a way to repurpose broken things - like his worn-out blanket. This book really reminds us of my father, now a grandfather, too!
My Grandpa 《我爸爸》 from Peppa Pig Bilingual Boardbook Series《小猪佩奇双语纸板系列》
Peppa Pig has written a little book introducing her beloved grandpa! Inspired from the TV show, this book takes scenes from the original cartoon to let us read and learn about all the things that Grandpa Pig does and all the things he loves the most!
Books about our Father's love
You Are Special Series 《你很特别系列》 by Max Lucado
This series contains 5 different stories that all talk about the God’s love for us despite all our flaws and through all our hardships or worries.
In All You Ever Need 《你所需要的》, the Father’s love is demonstrated when he chooses to share his water with everyone indiscriminately and unconditionally.
In Because I Love You 《因为我爱你》, God’s love knows no bounds and no dangers. So when a young, adventurous boy goes missing, Shaddai goes out to find him.
In You Are Special 《你很特别》, a story about the unconditional and unreserved love of the Father is told through a short allegory about a young, unassuming Wemmick.
