What is Curious Little Bao?
Helen Wu is the author and creator of the Curious Little Bao Bilingual Children's Book series 好奇的小宝双语童书系列. Her vision for this series is to introduce a collection of simple and practical bilingual books based on her real-life experiences of raising her toddler.
While raising her toddler, it didn’t take long for her to realise that there was a lack of quality bilingual books available, especially ones that teach toddlers basic social skills and behaviours. In addition, she often felt that main characters are often foods, animals or girls. She wanted to create books to help bridge this gap that includes illustration Asian toddlers identify with, translations with romanization that enable all parents to read to their children in Chinese, and messages that provide simple, repeatable phrases, which enable children to commit them to memory.
