About Jojo Adventure Books

Jojo Adventure Books exists to provide more resources to Cantonese-speaking and American-born Chinese families through books and interactive activities in order to preserve Cantonese Language for future generations.

In Emily’s search for bilingual Chinese/English books for her little one, she found some books but most of them were catered to people who could read Chinese characters or are Mandarin speakers.

Then she thought, "Why not write my own series?"

Emily felt the need to create a series for Cantonese speakers for parents like me, who want to pass on our language to the next generation through children's books. At that moment, the idea for Jojo Adventure Books was born.

The Jojo Adventure Books series is a bilingual children's board book series for Cantonese and English speaking families and is accessible to all levels of literacy in Chinese. This series features text in English and Traditional Chinese characters accompanied by Jyutping. Jyutping provides phonetic support for Cantonese speakers, whether or not they can read the Chinese characters. Access to audio files are also available with the purchase of any board book. This series is centered around Jojo, an Asian-American toddler, who is learning about the world around her. Each book features a new adventure that Jojo goes on with Mommy and Daddy. The books showcase the different animals, fruits, and other encounters along the way. There is so much to see in the world and Jojo loves to explore!

Parents can teach their little one(s) words in Cantonese and English through this series of little adventures that are brought to life with realistic watercolour-style illustrations.
